IONmed Systems wants to improve healthcare and the way care is delivered.

Our Mission

To produce, implement and support technically enabled assessments and treatments of patients with chronic disease. We serve hospitals, therapy centers, physician offices and extended care facilities with evidence-based, outcomes-driven software that saves time, facilitates management of clinical outcomes and improves healthcare decision-making.

Leadership Team

Chris Recknor, MD
Co-founder and Medical Director

Chris Recknor, MD has extensive experience in the field of osteoporosis and bone health. He has participated in numerous clinical studies, published several peer-reviewed papers and nearly two dozen abstracts and presentations. He is a speaker or advisor for multiple groups and companies associated with osteoporosis research and treatment. Dr. Recknor received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also performed his residency in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Bone and Mineral Research, International Society for Clinical Densitometry, and National Osteoporosis Foundation. He owns and is the medical director for the United Osteoporosis Centers.

Stephanie Grant, M.S., OTR/L
Co-founder and Managing Director

Stephanie Grant has presented nationally on bone health research topics and published on topics related to aging and osteoporosis. She is a contributor to Williard and Spackman's Occupational Therapy 10th and 11th editions, a market-leading textbook in rehabilitation. A graduate of Tufts University, she has partnered with Brenau University and Clemson University to research osteoporosis topics. Ms. Grant was the lead author of the clinical design requirements of IONmed Systems software. She also serves as a rehabilitation consultant for the United Osteoporosis Centers. She is a Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and National Osteoporosis Foundation and is a licensed occupational therapist in the state of Georgia and certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Julie Recknor, PhD
Research Director and Database Manager

Dr. Recknor is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. She also participates in the design of research studies and reviews the work product to ensure quality and consistency of content. Dr. Recknor, who has published more than a dozen articles and abstracts, has a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina, an M.S. in Mathematics from Clemson University and a B.S. in Mathematics from Furman University. As a previous director for a biometrics contract research organization, Dr. Recknor has experience in the design and data analyses of over 50 clinical trials.
